In early 2021, doctors in Thailand were able to start treating patients in the early stages of COVID infection (fever and cough) with andrographis as part of a pilot study using 60 to 100 mg of andrographis 3 times daily (180 to 300 mg total).

According to experts on traditional medicines, 90% of COVID patients in China are already receiving herbal medicines as part of their treatment.

Herbalists have already reported that andrographis, taken at the first sign of symptoms, prevents viral infections including COVID from taking hold and is an effective treatment for upper respiratory infections.
