Liver cancer can be treated surgically, but not in all patients.
The cancer drugs used when surgical treatment is not possible are not highly effective, and the cancer cells tend to quickly become resistant to the drugs.
A new study recently published by Dr Ajay Goel looked at the effects of curcumin in combination with a standard cancer drug against drug-resistant liver cancer cells.
Results: curcumin alone reduced cancer cells by up to 50%, while the drug alone only reduced cancer cells by 20%.
When the two were combined, cancer cells were reduced by 80% -even cancer cells that had been completely resistant to drug treatment alone!
