Ashwagandha for Women’s Sexual Health

80 women between the ages of 18 and 50 with low sexual desire were treated with ashwagandha or placebo for 8 weeks.
Results: the women treated with ashwagandha saw nearly double the improvement in sexual health as measured by a standardized score for sexual function.
Improvement was noted in every factor measured, including sexual desire, arousal, and satisfaction.

This study confirms a previous study, in which otherwise healthy women experiencing sexual dysfunction and reduced libido were treated with Ashwagandha, which increased overall sexual health by almost 20%, and arousal specifically by 30%.
