50% of all Cancers Can Be Prevented.
Maybe we should spend more time educating Americans on how to prevent cancer than the billions of dollars spent on looking for a cancer cure. But, few people really care to learn that our lifestyle choices are responsible for causing 50% of all cases of cancer.
50% of all Cancers Can Be Prevented.
The largest study ever published on the link between cancer and its risk factors:
Using estimates of cancer cases and deaths from more than 200 countries, researchers identified the three major risk factors most closely associated with causing cancer.
- Smoking
- Alcohol Use
- Obesity
There are other risk factors associated with cancer (such as environmental and workplace exposure to cancer-causing chemicals), but simply not smoking, staying at a healthy weight, and drinking alcohol in moderation can reduce the number of cancer cases by 50%.
