We are a nation of overeatingaholics.
There is news today that meat increases the risk of cancer, which it did not 80 years ago. So now, we have to know why meat causes cancer today and was not a high threat years ago. First of all, is it the quantity of meat consumed versus years ago?
Today, the bigger the steak, the better consumers enjoy it, but it’s certainly not healthier. Americans overeat most everything. Eating is a replacement for sex. Many people enjoy food and overeating more than having sex.
Most restaurants are frequented because of the size of the steaks. Cancer may be the result of overeating a healthy food. We could just be overeating a very healthy food. To satisfy our protein requirements, we only need about 3-4 ounces of meat at a meal. That is about the size of the palm of your hand and the thickness as well. We are a nation of overeatingaholics.
Animals are not raised without many chemicals in their diets plus drugs, antibiotics, and growth hormones. Do these cause cancer? Or, does the meat cause cancer?
Or, is it because they are no longer grass-fed but corn-fed. Corn feeding reduces omega-3 fatty acids which are anti-inflammatory and provided by grass-feeding? Corn-fed increases pro-inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids.
Inflammation causes cancer. Omega-6 causes cancer. Maybe it is not the meat but the quality of the meat.
Some processed meats are preserved with chemicals that are known carcinogens which cause cancer.
But experts, “experts on what?”, say meat causes cancer. Hummmmm!
