Drugs are not the answer to improving good health.

I am not totally against drugs when there is a major health crisis.  Drugs have their appropriate use.  What we really are deficient in are vitamins, minerals and other accessory food factors that act as fuel for our body.  Americans are sorely deficient in a number of nutrients which then creates, based on their deficiencies, metabolic disorders which are today classified as diseases so that drug companies can sell  more drugs.  The American diet consists of 70% carbohydrates and of those 70% carbohydrates, 95% are refined carbohydrates and refined sugar.  A large percentage of the foods consumed by Americans are refined and processed, therefore stripping out the natural nutrients such as vitamins and minerals.  Our body cannot function to its peak optimal level burdened by these deficiencies.  Doctors have practically no knowledge of nutrition and dietitians rely on old school ideas and concepts of nutrition.  When doctors diagnose a thyroid disorder they prescribe Synthroid.  The thyroid cannot function without iodine.  It is not in need of thyroxin or Synthroid.  With iodine, the thyroid can make its own hormone.  The American diet is almost completely deficient in iodine.  From the research on Vitamin D3, we understand it can treat and prevent up to 77% of 17 different kinds of cancer.  Vitamin D3 can eliminate 90% of influenza.  No need for a flu shot with sufficient quantities of vitamin D3 to maintain a proper immune system.  Vitamin D3 can eliminate up to 78% the risk of depression.  Vitamin D3 has shown positive results eliminating Parkinson’s disease and MS.  These neurological diseases occur more commonly in countries where the weather is often cold and gloomy.  Doctors maintain that cholesterol increases the risk of heart disease and strokes.  There is absolutely no research that confirms this.  But sugar that we consume, up to 200 to 250 pounds per year per individual, causes major complications and is toxic to the body.  You never hear a doctor tell a patient to stop eating sugar.  Sugar causes diabetes and pre-diabetic conditions which then can cause obesity, heart disease, atherosclerosis, and strokes.  The number one cause of blindness and retinopathy is brought about by sugar.  This whole process of how sugar affects the body is complicated and very technical, but the bottom line is sugar is poison to the body.  B vitamins, particularly thiamin, B1, can reduce the risk of many complications associated with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.  The majority of Americans are consistently deficient in several vitamins and minerals on a daily basis.  Most Americans are deficient in magnesium which is an important mineral to regulate heart function.  Doctors prescribe drugs for what they call A-fib.  Magnesium is the choice to support the heart.  Not only diabetics and pre-diabetics but all Americans are extremely deficient in  B vitamins.  All bread products, pasta and anything made from flour are very deficient in B vitamins.  They have been stripped out during refining and processing to make white, bleached flour.  White flour doesn’t spoil very easily compared to whole grain flour so it’s economically sound for many manufacturers to want to remove the healthy part of the grains because they can spoil and turn rancid.  I believe everyone should build a foundation of good health by taking a multivitamin and mineral supplement, not just a one-a-day tablet.  While you can get all the vitamins and minerals in a one-a-day, they would not be at a level to support the body.  For a really good foundation, I recommend a formula that’s built into 2 to 4 tablets daily.  We can live without natural medicines and other natural alternatives but we can’t live to the level of health we desire without vitamins and minerals.  A one-a-day tablet is extremely deficient for adults and children.
